WELCOME TO THE INTERNET'S
Master Links to Articles on the Internet
Pertaining to Fiction

Here you will find links to 1000s of articles that discuss some aspect of the writing of fiction.  Unlike most other links collections pertaining to writing, NONE of these links are to general writing resources (e.g., dictionaries, stories, lists of agents, lists of magazines, etc.).  Rather, every one of them contains specific, detailed advice (about writing fiction).  They are, in short, articles, not "resources."

To access the article-links, you first use the index of subjects (see the index).  After selecting a particular subject, you'll be taken to the section containing the article-links pertaining to that subject.

The arrangement of the subject index is logical, beginning with links to articles about being a writer (writer's psychology, writer's block, ideas, creativity, etc.), followed by links to articles about fiction in general, then about specific parts of fiction, about format, about genres, about fiction media (novels, screenplays, etc.), about getting help once you've begun writing, about marketing your manuscripts, about agents, about copyright, about specific writing jobs, and so on.

Each individual article-link includes either the actual title of the article or a general description of the content of the article.  In some instances, additional explanatory descriptions are contained immediately below the link.  The bracketed item is either the name of the web-site in which the article appears, the name of the webmaster of the site, or the name of the author of the article.  (And remember, information about the source can also be found simply by looking at the link's URL.)

Note that the topics covered may often overlap between those dealing with, say, writing novels and those dealing with, say, screenwriting.  Subjects of articles may deal with any of the following types of fiction media: screenwriting, book-writing, short-story writing, playwriting, multi-media, etc.

One should NOT assume that the location of a particular article-link within a given list is a reflection of its relative quality.  For instance, the 20th item in a list may be an article that is just as useful as the first item on the list.  In short, do not assume that the first few articles linked are necessarily the best articles on the subject of interest.

Should you discover any links that are no longer accurate, or if you learn of new articles about fiction, please notify us.  Please try to be as specific as possible about the nature of your article suggestion/correction.  We shall try to keep all links up to date, and new additions will be identified with a "NEW" notation.
